Percolator is basically an additional water chamber found in the main shaft of the bong tube. It is used for the second passage of smoke through the water. The bongs we have there are for this purpose equipped with a glass bubble inside the shaft tube. Once the vacuum is created, the smoke is drawn into the glass air pocket located over water level and through several small holes pushed under water. All focus on more water to smoke interaction, making for a better filtered and cooler hit.
Percolator bongs provides even better filtering of smoke through the water than more common bongs with only one filtration cycle.
